Description

Join us every Saturday for the Old Town Literary Walking Tour, a stroll through downtown Key West, illuminating stories of writers that have called our island home. Inspired by David A. Kaufelt’s original literary walking tour, our new tour features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and highlights tales of our lesser-known local talent.

Tours commence in front of the Monroe County Public Library, 700 Fleming Street (between Elizabeth and William Streets) in Key West and last approximately 90 minutes. You will finish at the Historic Seaport near the foot of Greene Street. Please be on time and wear comfortable shoes, as this is a 90-minute walking tour. This stroll through downtown Key West features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and illuminates the rich life of letters in this island city. Advance reservations are required.

Tours depart Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (4:30 p.m. beginning November 10)
