The buoy at the southernmost point of Key West stands taller than tourists and reads "90 miles to Cuba". Join the crowd and take your picture beside this famous Key West attraction. The gift shop near the southernmost point has trinkets and souvenirs replicating the buoy. You can also find photographs, postcards, paintings, key chains and more.

Artists sometimes set up shop to sell their original paintings and photographs to tourists. Many cruise ship passengers visit the southernmost point when their cruise ship docks for the day.

The live camera at the Southernmost Point Guest House lets you see exactly what's happening at this much visited tourist attraction. Many tourists enjoy staying at the Southernmost House, a historic house at the southern tip of Key West.

Tours throughout Key West drive by the southernmost point so tourists can see the miles and miles of ocean south of the U.S. Visit Mallory Square to sign up for a tour, or talk to a tour representative. You'll most likely find tour reps on every corner.

Next to the southernmost point buoy you'll find the Southernmost Beach. Locals and visitors will be found lounging on this white sandy beach. The beach's sign attests that author Tennessee Williams swam daily at this beach, and quotes him as saying, "I work everywhere, but I work best here".

Beyond the beach is the beautiful pier, where you'll see visitors walking to the edge to snap some photographs.

Several restaurants and shops are around, so there's plenty to do around the point once you've seen the landscape.

While this isn't the truth southernmost point of the U.S., it's the closest tourists can get. There is a naval base further south, but it isn't open to the public.
